• Current:
  • Chair of the Modeling & Benchmarking Subcommittee of the Extended Storage Collaboration Program of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI-ESCP, since 2021) covering three task groups: Decay Heat, Radiation Dose, and Thermal Modelling.
  • Member of the German DIN Standards Committee for Material Testing, Criticality Safety and Decay Power (since 2021).
  • Delegate of Germany to the OECD/NEA Working Party on Nuclear Criticality Safety (WPNCS). The WPNCS deals with technical and scientific issues relevant to criticality safety. Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to) investigations of static and transient configurations encountered in the nuclear fuel cycle including fuel fabrication, transport and storage (link, since 2019)

  • Chair and Initiator of the annual SEDS Workshop on Safety of Extended Dry Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel, GRS Garching, Germany. International conference on advances in the field of safety aspects of extended dry storage of spent nuclear fuel.   • Coordinator of OECD-NEA Working Party on Nuclear Criticality Safety Sub-Group Role of Integral Experiment Uncertainties and Covariance Data in Criticality Safety  Validation (2018 – 2020). Details can be found here.
  • Member of the working group Forschung zu HAW Zwischenlagerung und Behandlung (Research on interim storage and treatment of high-level radioactive waste) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The working group contributed to the Ministry’s funding program for the nuclear safety (link, in german) (2019).
